Henri Cartier - Bresson

I chose this photo because each of the women are helping each other, and none of them are smiling. It looks as if the photo was shot as soon as they were all told to smile. Also, to see women helping one another is not only empowering but is something that shall be seen and heard of more often. I also chose this photo because each woman is of a different ethnicity yet they are helping each other with their hair.

The facial expression of each lady looks like they were just offended or bothered by the picture being taken. The exposure in this photo also heightens these expressions and the mood because of the dark contrasts. The camera's angle slightly capturing the backside of their faces adds more depth to not only the photo but to their emotions. The limited background draws the focal point to the women.

Project 6 Proposal 1 & 2

In this proposal  I would like to show a modification to each yoga pose that I post. My goal during this project is to give and show alternative poses and positions depending on aches, strength, flexibility, etc.  I would like to show others that no matter what condition, age, or size, practicing yoga is obtainable by anyone. I would also like to show that yoga is also accessible anywhere, for those who have hectic schedules and don't have time to get to a studio or take 30 minutes out of there day to do yoga.

To capture these poses I could use yoga blocks and straps, direct my gaze differently. do some poses in a chair, while getting ready for the day, or ending the day etc. I also plan to show how to habit stack while doing simple daily tasks and incorporating yoga.

In this project I would like to show that yoga is not only the beautiful or acrobatic poses that are shown on Instagram (myself included.) Yoga is a practice that gives a different experience and result each day. Flexibility and strength change on a daily basis and it's just needed to be taken slow. I will accomplish this goal by taking picture of my practice, regardless or being able to hold or fold perfectly. I will also be capturing beginners and intermediate poses as well as advanced, depending on where my body and mind take me accordingly.

To capture these poses I could do the same poses through the day to see how different stages of mobility in my body change and show up in my poses. I can try poses I've yet to master so there more authenticity in my poses. I can also do yoga when I notice a shift throughout my mood to see if that alters the practice as well. I can also zoom in on my facial features during the poses to see how it affects my mood in the moment.
